Perhaps Mr. White should review Mr. Bourne's application to learn of his professional qualifications before starting on a diatribe just because their concerns and conclusions differ on some matters.
I for one am very impressed with how thoughtful Mr. Bourne is, and how concerned he is with safety and quality of life for all of us who live on or near Santa Cruz and Hillview.
I find it hard to believe that Mr. Bourne painted the curbs red in front of his house because most people like their friends and relatives to be able to park in front when they visit. More likely this was done by the city out of concern for safety.
As parents of a Hillview child, we have complained in the past about the "innocent" noise of several dances and programs. Our decibel reader proved that the volume levels were dangerous for the ears of the children and adults in the buildings. Small wonder that neighbors also would complain.
If Mr. White would tone down his personal attacks, our city might be less divisive.

I'm really glad this letter is here, because it says more about Pat White's character than about Charles Bourne's. I have followed Pat White's numerous letters for some time, and their tone is nothing if not consistent.
