The road was closed because of a liquid chemical spill that was called in around 3 p.m. The CHP thought it might be the flammable chemical Xylene, but the Almanac hasn't been able to confirm that yet. A hazardous materials crew did the clean-up by about 4:15, according to a county emergency offical.
