I don't know what I would have done if I had been diagnosed with PD at age 15. I was knocked sideways when I was diagnosed with PD at age 63 and spent the next 18 months in denial. Lynn Fielder's courage and determination in the face of her diagnosis is truly inspiring. I realize now that accepting the diagnosis of PD is not the same as giving into it. Not wanting to be "sick" is a natural human response and therefore a good thing. The reality is the glass is either "half full" or "half empty". Our challenge is to remember that there is life above the water.

Thank you Ms. Fielder!
