Atherton Police Fiddle While Atherton Burns

Original post made by Cut the !$!$%!, Atherton: West Atherton, on Oct 16, 2010

Two people have died on El Camino in the last two weeks. Two more were the victims of violent crime in Atherton (a sexual assault and a violent robbery of an ipad).

Where were the police who get more than half the budget money during this?

At Brian Bothun's house harassing him.

If the Atherton police department wants to continue to provide services to this town, it needs to get its priorities straight. Vendettas are not part of the program.

The cops had been protected by Gruber and Wilkerson. Now with these two gone, it's high time that town management clamp down on this reckless behavior and read the riot act to these cops.

Atherton's best hope for reform in the police department currently occupy the number 1 and 2 spots.

I ought to know. My office was directly accross from PD, I had a front row seat from which to observe what was going on.
I have also spoken with people who have very close connections with the Department.

Guerra and Wade are stand up guys. They are professionals. They know their jobs and they do them well.

The problem with many people who post on this forum is that they don't have a clue about what's going on in Town.

The problem is that because they don't have a clue, they can't distinguish the good actors from the bad actors.

Give these guys a chance.

By the way, El Camino has been a killing field for years. I know because I commuted on this deadly stretch of asphault for years on my bicycle. When you cross the El Camino you take your life in your hands.

Don't use these two fatalities as an excuse to bash the PD.

Peter Carpenter's words ring hollow with me.

It's guys like Buckheit whom I'm counting on to fix this town.
