Don't forget about Tim Singer the 34 year old young man unsolved homicide case last May just a couple blocks down the tracts at Maple. Family is offering $25,000 reward. Trauma to head.

I hope the evidence supports these men are guilty. The bigger problem is their belief what they were doing was acceptable and they just got caught. So difficult to change the 'gangsta' mentality.

Mr. Stogner, I thought that case wasn't clearly a homicide? It sounds like too many unknowns in Singer's case to definitely put it in the same category as this latest assault. Of course, the public hasn't been told much about this recent assault, either.

The Tim Singer case can not be ruled out from a homicide. The Coroner has not signed off on it yet and it was being investigated as a homicide. Blunt trauma to head.

Todays update: Desean Damar Walker Bail set at $250,000 that is in addition to the $250,000 bail for another robbery case.

Thank you, Mr. Stogner. From what I've read, yes, homicide not ruled out but it's not totally clear. I am glad they are still investigating it - what a tragedy regardless of the circumstances. If it's a homicide of course finding the guilty is important.

I am glad to read of the bail amounts - that means a total of $50k for Walker to get sprung, so someone would likely have to put up their house(s) (guess they'd be separate bonds?). Let's hope no one comes up w/it.

I see young kids at all time of the day doing nothing but trashing ,close to the train platform in Redwood City. They don't seem to work or go to school. What about the police checking them and ask questions.Isn't law about being at school or else???????????????????

Lets include hate crime as a possibility.

Now we find out that there are other BEATINGS taking place within a couple of blocks and a couple of months from each other. The last one we know about was reported to have 9-15 boys/men involved in the attack in public. This wasn't about money.

Lets wake up San Mateo County we have to protect each other.

Tim Singer head trauma May 1, 2010 died May 8, 2010 Maple St. at tracks.

December 2010 1800 block Broadway St Redwood City 12:30 AM beating robbery. This is this case Walker was charged with this week.

March 4, 2011 Caltrain/SamTrans station 7:30 PM beating 9-15 assailants.

Ok, Mr. Stogner - get this - I map 1800 Broadway to see how close to the station. Guess what comes up? Project Heartbeat, a place which provides classes in CPR & First Aid. Beyond ironic.

So these 3 incidents are pretty close & 2 of them include involvement by Mr. Walker. So we'll see if we hear that he gets questioned re the Singer death.

innocent until proven guilty. If proven guilty, their parents and family members need to be paraded in public to show their lack of parenting. When I grew up we were taught never to bring shame on our family or community.
If they are guilty, they and their families need to plead guilty, take the consequences and not be an economic drain on our community tying up our legal system.
An aside: in prison: marine haircut, prison clothes, no personal items, no tv,computers, phones, no education, etc. Prisoners need to grow all of their food (or not eat), clean prison, work on breaking rocks into gravel - that should give them some of the teaching that should have been done by their parents.
Also, no conjugal visits, no marriages, and unlike it is now, NO Welfare for their families. That should be some kind of deterrent.
