Summer is here, people are roaming the street at night, tempers run hot. Last summer we had a shockingly high murder rate on the east sides of Menlo Park and Palo Alto. Are the police forces working together? Is there a plan for more frequent and visible block-by-block patrols? It's only a matter of time before it moves from a gang dispute into an accidental bystander tragedy. Let's acknowledge the problem and address it with proven policing strategies.
