Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

It appeared that about half of the usual number of vendors showed up today (Dec. 2) for the Menlo Park Farmers’ Market. The market manager said the ones who did come rode out the storm in their trucks and set up once the wind finally died down.

By the time we got there around 11:15 a.m. the rain had stopped and there was a decent turnout. From 6 a.m. until after 10 a.m., it was really windy and stormy.

There was a lot of flooding in Menlo Park. At 9 a.m. much of Waverly Avenue, between Linfield and Laurel, was so flooded the water was up over the sidewalk in many places and the city’s “Flooded” sawhorse was floating in the middle of the street.

The corner of El Camino and Menlo by Applewood Pizza was also pretty flooded. By the time we passed back through around noon, the flooding was almost entirely gone.
