Thank you, GAIS, for keeping the Menlo Park City School District accountable for their decisions! From the posts that have been on the Almanac in recent weeks, it looks like Ghysels and the school board make decisions behind closed doors hoping that no one will question them.
Thank you for demanding transparency!

Exactly. The decision was made by [portion removed] Maurice and the airhead school board went along. No menlo parent wants their kid going to conner. Yet parent input and staff input are ignored behind a smoke screen of 'committee' quackery.
What we need is an alliance between the O'Conner parents and the Menlo parents to kick out [portion removed--Avoid demeaning labels] Maurice and recall this most foolish school board EVER assembled.
Look at this board. Fired 6 or 7 SOLID school employees that have served our children for YEARS, in some cases DECADES. This board knows they are most excellent employees and have given their all, yet, LOOK, they dump people like Mandilk WITHOUT CAUSE under the guise of 'program change' and all without the ability to explain what nonsense that may mean! Like how can Maurice explain this? He knows that sped is excellent, as he constantly states that he 'will keep this excellent program going' !!!???
How?
Same with O'Conner. Take away a happy program and give it to Menlo parents that DO NOT WANT their children going there????!!!!
Everything this [Portion removed] leader touches falls apart! I'm not joking!

Almanac, why do you constantly defend the bully Maurice? This is a anominous public forum where we can actually tell the truth without getting fired, maybe. Toxic and bully and abuser EXACTLY describes Maurice. Renee has done the basic research and gave this tool an 'F,' which is accurate. Why? Because he's misunderstood? NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Stop covering up for him! You become an enabler of deception.

Ghsyels, the leadership guru, needs to conduct a 360 assessment of himself as superintendent. That's the current tool that's trending in the corporate world and among leadership consultants as a way of improving organizational environments and to identify toxic leaders. Of course, from what I've been reading, he and the board probably wouldn't like the results.

To be fair, I think the Alamanc has done a great job in reporting the facts on a superintendent who goes out of his way to avoid the press even though he always ends up in the press in a negative light. There are limits to everything, and I think the editorial staff has been handling things well even while slow roasting Ghysels a few articles back. For me a bigger issue is the board that got us all into this mess. Ghysels serves at their pleasure afterall. His contract is up for renewal next year. Let's see how they handle it.

Yes, Renee at the Almanac has done some leg work, but we have the constant deletion, partial or total while Maurice acolytes have their comment continue without Almanac 'policing,' which adds to the problem.
This board is a MAJOR problem. Like someone said earlier, Ken's skills were certainly not superior but he knew how to check the board and keep staff together for the good of the kids, parents and staff.
The board simply has zero intellectual depth, which Larry at Leadership Ass. mined with his board profile system then presented the background board thinking errors to Maurice, a known loser of years of failures one after the other.
Santa Clara County, another cesspool of nonsense 'educators,' where Maurice landed after being kicked out of Mt. View, disliked him, and he only 'worked' there a few months.
Yet, the board closes all input for staff, parents about selection of this Superintendent and puppy talked the critical mass affair that sent him out of Mt. View as 'he found true love!'
Meanwhile, this Maurice has secured A FOUR YEAR CONTRACT, amounting to over a ONE MILLION DOLLAR TAX PAYER rip off in his 'salary,' that can best be described as paying a racketeer to tear the district apart.
Unreal!
Ask the board member, airhead Laura, what Maurice was doodling when he was supposed to help us go through old district policies:
$1,000,000 dollar paycheck! I can NOT make this stuff up!!!!
After I say this, he gets up and leaves, as he can't sit still for one minute, and left the above doodle. Laura came by and I watched her pick it up and look at his 'work,' which was zero, and said, 'I don't trust him!'
REALLY??????
What's it gonna take, Laura????
What??

A question for the board:
What good has Maurice Ghysels done?
It's beginning to sound like all he does he come into a place and "clean house" as a means to "fix" all that is wrong. Then he's gone before anyone notices that he really has no idea what he's doing.
