It's been clear for some time that The Almanac and Palo Alto Online have been hard-up for actual news (not much happens around here), so they've tried to stir up as much craziness as possible to increase readership. Reminds me of the old National Enquirer.

We are living in an area that is among the wealthiest and most educated -- and certainly most beautiful -- in the U.S., why is there so much anger and self-pity about every single issue?

Meanwhile, Putin is actually escalating the shipment of conventional arms to Syria, ensuring the Syrian civil war continues.

While Obama has been pontificating about chemical weapons, over 100,000 Syrians have been killed by the conventional weapons Putin continues pouring into Assad’s waiting arms.

In addition to what he is doing in Syria, Putin is using the cover from Obama to double down in Iran, The Russians announced last week that they’re selling sophisticated S-300 air defense missiles to Iran and are also ready to help build a second nuclear reactor for the Bushehr Nuclear Plant.

Obama did a masterful job!

No attacking another middle eastern country, diplomacy saved lives. None of our allies supported an attack anyway.

Even Republican Nicole Wallace agreed Obama did well. Wallace, the campaign manager for McCain/Palin-the-half-termer, said this week: "Republican senator Corker said it's hard to deny that Obama didn't land on some solid ground"

All that shows is that Roger Ailes is a lot smarter than Obama. Duh! Everyone knows that. Putin played Obama like Itzhak Perlman playing a Stradivarius.

Putin is a master of negotiations and Obama is a mere dilettante. The first thing they teach you in B school is never issue an ultimatum. It severely limits your options and ability to negotiate. Obama issued an ultimatum and painted himself into a corner.

One rule of negotiation is to be prepared to give something up that the other side thinks is very important to you but in reality it is a red herring that you are willing to give up to keep the real thing you want off the negotiation table. Putin was masterful.

Obama put his foot in his mouth with the red line ultimatum. What a dummkopf!

Then Putin comes to the rescue by offering to take care of the Chemical Weapons problem. The chemical weapons were Putin's throwaway and were a throwaway from the very beginning. And Obama eagerly took Putin's bait. Putin's real end game was to silence any Obama objections over conventional weapons.

Putin was the real master here. Over 100,000 Syrians have been killed with conventional weapons provided by Russia to Syria and Putin has more coming Assad's way. With the so called chemical weapon bailout of Obama Putin effectively neutered Obama regarding any protests about conventional weapons.

It is really embarrassing to see Putin so easily out-negotiate and outmaneuver Obama.

The United States has lost prestige and power in the Middle East. Obama is widely seen as an amateur who has not a soupçon of common sense or experience. Unfortunately with Obama at the helm the United States is a rudderless ship with no direction. It is the ship of fools.

Obama did beat Putin by a huge margin on another question in the poll – which leader was the least effective on Syria. Forty-four percent said Obama was the least effective and just 10 percent said the same of Putin, the survey showed.

As Fox News said, from above, the head of Fox News - Roger Ailes said:

“Putin is angry. ..... Okay, fine, that’s how he feels. If I were president, I’d get in a room with him and say, ‘Look at the slaughter going on in Syria. You can stop it. Do it, and I’ll see to it that you can get all the credit. ... And what does it cost? You get what you want you give up nothing.”

Obama did a fine job. No American BLOOD or TREASURE spilled. Bush, Cheney and the other CHICKEN-HAWKS should learn from this valuable lesson.

Never listen to republicans on foreign policy - they take us into unnecessary land wars in the Middle East. Just like Reagan and getting 300 Marines murdered in Lebanon. Just like Bush in Iraq.

Never trust a republican on defense.

Quinnipiac "American voters oppose 72 - 22 percent Congress shutting down the federal government to block implementation of the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today."
