Assistant District Attorney, Al Serrato concludes investigation of Sequoia Healthcare District

Original post made by Jack Hickey, Woodside: Emerald Hills, on Oct 31, 2013

After a 5 month investigation into the $300 per month increase in health insurance subsidy to sitting Directors of the Sequoia Healthcare District, the DA's Office concludes that it is not in a position to legally compel reimbursement of the increased benefits.
The benefit, which increased the subsidy from $1200 t0 $1500 per month, was originally adopted in December 2012 by a 3 to 1 vote with 1 abstention. The 3 Directors who voted for the benefit, Art Faro, Katie Kane and Kim Griffin have already received $1800 each in benefit for the first half of 2013.
Ironically, the Board reversed itself at it's June meeting, but made the reversal effective on July 1,2013. This left the 3 Directors with $1800 gifts.
