Cause there's a severe drought in California and Carpenter stepped up with a major investment to help and try to set a pace. Of course it's newsworthy.

Here's the elephant in the room ...
Didn't the fire department just put fake grass in at it's stations? How much did that cost and is the payback period the same as 15 years? If so, is this good use of tax dollars? Was the expense approved by the Board or just "done"?
Did the same company do the Director Carpenter's job??

"Did the same company do the Director Carpenter's job??"
NO.
And there is no 'elephant' in the room. The Fire Chief's decision to replace water hungry grass with artificial turf was well within his delegated budget authority.

Why does the fire dept need fake grass? Did a soccer game break out?
Why not natural plantings?
Whats the quick, back of the napkin, ROI?
No way it saves 50 grand of water. Cutting the kawn can be done by the boys as oart of their contracted 2 hour exercise program.
What was the deal, and did peter use the same company?

He dramatically claims to have studied the matter for his home.
Did you do similar study for the fire dept?
If not, why not?
If so, why not share the ROI figures?
Sunlight. Good for more than plastic grass.

Not answering the questions, eh?
Typical. Berate the poster. Be sure to use "fool" in as many forms as possible.

Why was this supposedly worth the money for the taxpayers wgen there is little to no upkeep costs to offset?
What was the cost, and the ROI?

Better to admit you don't know than berate voters.
Even if you did, with dramatic flair, study it completely for your home.
Whats the return on taxpayer dollars?
