What a heart warming story! I met Mr. Mays and his lovely wife a number of years go. He was always so gracious, kind and humble. On the playing field, he was grace, strength, precision and pure talent. The legacy he has left for these young ball players, as well as current professionals, is huge! What a special place to play America's game - congratulations Atherton. Say Hey Kid, you are the best!

This is a wonderful, storybook ending to a long saga. The Little League was forced to jump through hoop after hoop to donate this ballpark, and up until the end there were adversaries who thought the project would be a disaster. The naysayers could not have been more wrong. By all accounts, this is a beautiful addition to our Town that will be treasured for generations. Thank you to everyone who donated time and money to bring us this A-MAYS-ING gift!
