Gallup: republicans suddenly favor keeping electoral college - do you?

Original post made by Rainy day pal, Hillview Middle School, on Dec 10, 2016

Currently, 19% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents favor basing the winner on the popular vote, down from 49% in October 2004 and 54% in 2011.

From 54% to 19%. All for trump?

Also: "Two-thirds of Americans correctly name Clinton as the winner of the popular vote, while 15% incorrectly name Trump and 18% say they are unsure. Eighty-five percent of Democrats correctly name Clinton as the winner of the popular vote compared with 56% of Republicans."

44% or republicans don't get that Trump lost by millions? Fox wins the sheeple vote again!

The Associated Press reported Trump won 2,626 counties compared with Clinton's 487.

Under our election rules, it's as statistically relevant as the popular vote.

I'm all for changing the rules and applying to the next election... not this one. I suspect Hillary knew the rules, too.

Good luck getting smaller states to go along with the popular vote instead of the EC. The EC is there for a reason. To prevent tyranny of the larger states.

Hmmmm... Republicans go from 54% support of EC to 19%, and the comments are about Hillary’s huge popular vote landslide and small state tyranny.

I read the topic as self interested hypocrisy. I guess we all see things through different lense.

The 44 percent of GOP number seemed like a gratuitous slam added on to the main point.

Republicans now control just about everything - both houses of Congress, the White House and two-thirds of state legislatures and governorships.

Democratic losses during the Obama Administration have been historic and breathtaking.

That's what happens when you ignore your true base.
