Downtown - Pop-up Park

Original post made by Concerned Parent, Menlo Park: other, on Aug 30, 2017

At the August 22, 2017 City Council meeting, a speaker mentioned that he had obtained a lab report showing significant levels of bacteria on the artificial turf located on the Curtis Street - Downtown pop-up park. How serious is this? Will it harm our children? Will they become ill or die?

If dogs and others urinate, etc. on the turf, is it healthy for toddlers crawling around and children barefoot walking on it? Sometimes food falls on the turf and people pick it up to eat.

What do the adjacent business owners say? Does the park help or hurt their business? More questions than answers.

Does anybody know if it is safe to be there?
