noon to 1pm Apr. 20 - TODAY demonstration outside Town & Country - Earth day support; support students against gun violence

Original post made by peace&anti gun activist, Menlo Park: Downtown, on Apr 20, 2018

There will be a peaceful "sidewalk demonstration" TODAY, Fri. Apr. 20, from noon-1pm at the corner of El Camino and Embarcadero (on the Town and Country shopping center side, with Paly High on the Embarcadero Rd. side)) in support of Earth Day (formally Sunday, Apr. 22) and in support of the student-let protests against gun violence in schools (today is the 19th anniversary of the Columbine school shooting). We have some signs you can borrow, but also encourage you to make your own to express your support for both issues. All are welcome to join this peaceful demonstration (keeping room on the sidewalk for shoppers, etc., and not stepping out from the curb). If you park in the T&C parking lot, be sure to do some shopping, get a coffee, lunch, browse the independent book store, pick up some groceries, etc. so that we're not taking up parking that the T&C needs. All are welcome!

Similar peaceful sidewalk demonstrations take place spontaneously most Fridays at the same time, noon to 1:00pm. Come today for a little walk in the sun, noon to 1 and "speak (with a sign) your piece (peace)"
