Fire marshal advises on preventing wildfire destruction

Fire Marshal Denise Enea advised the Woodside Town Council on steps to take to prevent and curb wildfires, and in the unfortunate presence of one, to prevent destruction of one's home.

"Leigh Ann Gessner said in an email to The Almanac that MROSD "works proactively year-round to prevent and prepare for wildfires." The district coordinates with local fire agencies and fire-safe councils, maintains fire roads and firebreaks, and uses cattle to reduce fuel loads, Gessner said."

Leigh Ann: do we look stupid? Drive up Highway 84 (La Honda Road) and look at the dense dry brush in the Thornewood preserve. This irresponsible lack of maintenance by your organization endangers all the houses around, including the entire Skywood neighborhood.

What do we have to do to get OpenSpace to be responsible a neighbor?
