Cargill project in RWC being revisited

Original post made by Jack Hickey, Woodside: Emerald Hills, on Mar 16, 2019

Congresswoman Jackie Speier bemoans the recent EPA decision declaring the status of the Cargill salt ponds to be outside the proscriptions of the Clean Water Act. The EPA concluded that the Clean Water Act does not apply to the 1,365-acre Bayside property because the “site was converted to [dry] land long before the CWA was enacted.

Thank you Mr. President. I didn't vote for you, and will not support your re-election, but you have done some things right. This is one of them. Perhaps now we can evaluate the project EIR to see if, on balance, a negative declaration is justified.

Question for the EIR:
How many employees in Pacific Shores, Britannea Seaport Centre and other local enterprises would trade their commute for a residence in the new project?

Menlo Park could contribute to the success of this project by offering developers a long term land lease of Bedwell Park (former Marsh Road dumpsite) for creation of a much needed public golf course. And, perhaps Redwood City could persuade the developers to include a 40 lane Bowling Alley in their project to replace Mel's Bowl, San Carlos Bowl, Woodside Bowl, Palo Alto Bowl etc.

I just *knew* (when I saw the topic and author,) that this was about him wanting another golf course. Sheesh, give it up, jack. The golf course down the street from our homes isn't even at full capacity.

And for such a 'free market' blather-er, you sure like the gub'mint to step in a lot for your pet fantasies! A 40 lane bowling alley?!? That's your role for government????

@gulf -- If Hickey had his way, the entire Bay Area would be paved over for his pet projects.

And he wonders why he lost in last year's elections...
