More than 150 donations for the civic center were received, Levison said, many from supporters of the town's police department "who wanted the officers to have a decent place to work."
…and yet they already have a decent place to work…the streets of Atherton, where they are supposed to be out and about preventing all the crime that's been occurring.

Spoken by someone that clearly has no idea of what's involved in police work or the operation of a police department. You all who are so hell bent on having your own department instead of saving a couple mil a year contracting with the Sheriff ought to learn something about what the operation of a police department involves.
