Woodside OKs new spending on wildfire prevention efforts

The Woodside Town Council unanimously approved $40,000 toward a $242,000 project to remove eucalyptus and acacia trees that are overhanging power lines along Sand Hill Road between Portola Road and Interstate 280.

Hooray for Woodside Town Government and the Woodside Fire District! This is local government at its best!

Every day I drive on Woodside road and the lower part of Kings Mountain road and am scared to see the power lines hopelessly tangled in hundreds or thousands of trees.

The entire route is a total fire hazard.
