Sheriff's office locates missing woman with Alzheimer's disease

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office has located a 69-year-old woman with Alzheimer's disease who was reported missing, the agency said Saturday.

It seems inappropriate to name a person's medical condition in a news report. Especially a specific medical condition. I would hope HIPAA regulations would apply.
Just because the missing person report states it does not mean you should be putting a out there for everyone to see and the potential impacts on the individual and their family. Also there are plenty of folks out there waiting to take advantage of a person with a cognitive disorder.
