Is this section of road still used by the "century club" that tried to average 100mph from along Skyline from Hwy 84 to Hwy 9?

I believe that section is part of the strip that comprises the century club, but that run, if memory serves correctly, was mainly for motorcycles. I hope alcohol was not involved. Condolences to the family of the deceased and best wishes for the injured.

Brian: it says in the title "DUI" and in the article "drugs and/or alcohol played a role."
Poor tree!

The section of Skyline from Hwy 84 to Page Mill is regularly a race track particularly on weekends and late into the evenings and early AM. The sounds of motorcycle and passenger vehicle engines at high revs both accelerating and decelerating is clearly audible even though I live more than a half mile from the race track. It is disgusting that CHP and County Sheriff agencies choose not to patrol this area more thoroughly during the peak times of the "performance driving" activity. And certainly surprising that there are not more deaths and serious injuries.

Until 21 years ago I lived farther north off Skyline, and I can tell you that we never drove on weekends or holidays unless necessary, as the whole of Skyline was a racetrack for motorcycles during those years. Accidents were common. And the Sheriff still hasn’t put an end to this dangerous mayhem?
