If the author of this article had listened to the actual board meeting or the recording then perhaps she would have been reported the unfair questioning of two candidates in particular: Hopkins and Sabo. Hopkins was clearly the favorite of Dunn from the beginning as she was the only candidate to be asked about pre-school experience. How is working in the "education space" more or better experience than being an actual teacher? Has Hopkins ever stepped inside a public school classroom in any role other than a student or parent? Meanwhile, questions to Sabo implied that her experience as a former district teacher would leave her unable to maintain the confidentiality of closed session or that she would act only in the interest of her former colleagues, the teachers. Did Superintendent Polito and/or Assistant Superintendent Potts poison the well before the meeting even began? Morimoto, Finn and Solis Yi missed an incredible opportunity to appoint someone - Sabo - who would know what hard questions to ask Polito and Potts rather than accept everything they say as truth. Polito and Potts are masters of spin. Morimoto, Finn and Solis Yi are ignorant, or blind, to the the true state of the Las Lomitas School District.
