This sounds like a terrific idea, representative of the type of partnerships that I hope MP can foster with other housing advocates. Hopefully we will soon see similar projects on the west side of 101 as well to increase diversity throughout our city.

sjtaffee,

You live in the willows as do I. It seems like you are concerned with the diversity in the city. Maybe it is because I have been here a long time and remember what things were like the 70's but I have found Menlo Park and especially the Willows to be very diverse. My neighbors come from pretty much every continent on earth with the exception of Antarctica. I love the fact that I can walk around our neighborhood and talk to people from just about everywhere on earth. The last time I was at the Willows park I heard at least four different languages in conversations. I could identify Spanish, English and Russian but not the third. I can certainly tell you that was not the case 40 years ago when the Willows was predominantly Caucasian and you only heard English. Just about everywhere else in the world I have lived there was very little diversity, much less than you find in this area. I am looking forward to learning more about the diversity of the city but I am happy to see the diversity in the Willows.
