Guest opinion: Shooting for carbon negative development

One of the most daunting challenges of developing new housing in the wildland urban interface is increased fire danger. Fire resilient infrastructure and careful vegetation management are important elements of protecting our community from wildfire.

Although these are ambitious goals stated in the Guest Opinion piece, we need to realize that ambitious goals are what it will take to make a dent on climate change. Carbon sequestration in soils is a proven technology, as the author states, and could be implemented easily and with precision. Let's at least start there and work our way towards the other goals in the article!
