San Mateo County's minimum wage in unincorporated areas rises to $16.50 next month

Those who work for minimum wage in unincorporated San Mateo County will see their hourly rate rise beginning April 1. The new local minimum is $1 per hour higher than the state's minimum wage, which increased on Jan. 1.

Terrible news, especially for the low-skilled, who will have a harder time finding work (and gaining all-important job experience).
