Abstaining show NO guts! If he believes his words he would vote NO! How did Berman vote!
The residents in their districts deserve to know their positions on destroying their Bay Area communities!!!

@CyberVoter
Perhaps a little credit to Senator Becker for going against a very powerful tide in the California Senate? It took a lot of 'guts' to not vote in lock-step with the rest of the caucus seeking to destroy local control and communities.
Some praise for Mr. Becker is in order. If more would abstain, then the pathway for No votes becomes available.
Assemblyman Berman did not vote as it was a Senate Bill, not an Assembly Bill.

@CyberVoter, abstaining is an effective No vote. Reps are the ones who can vote No with impunity against Dem bills. Dems typically vote No with an abstain.
Berman voted Aye, as he does on every housing bill.

Since the bill passed, I’m willing to keep an open mind.
We need a lot more housing in this state and I won’t vote for NIMBY supporters. Local control is code for NIMBY.

And state control is code for progressive, socialist nonsense. Supported by people that are more than willing to spend other people's money.

When the dust settles, our progressive council is placing the predominance of said affordable housing in “not their backyards” but in the backyards of residents east of Middlefield. A third category is born: “Yes, in *your* backyard”. Along Middlefield, “affordable” rentals will accompany even more office space and ‘at market rate ‘ housing — but not in their backyards.
