Newspapers Commit Suicide

Original post made by Steve Frank, another community, on May 11, 2009

Friday morning the San Francisco Chronicle fired 30 people, without notice. Now the San Diego Union-Tribune is getting rid of 192 employees. The newspaper business is quickly closing down.

Between the Internet, talk radio, support of higher taxes and bad regulations, people no longer need to pay for bad propaganda and day old news.

In fact, newspaper are the buggy whips of our time. while we still have a need for information, there are more modern, efficient and accurate means of getting news.

Local newspapers will always be with us, bringing news of the community and events that matter. Papers like the Chronicle, the bankrupt LA Times, the Bee and Chronicle, bring little local news and read like a press release of the socialist wing of the Democrat Party. People want news and information, not being told they are selfish for not taxing themselves more, not wanting illegal aliens to take jobs form hones people, and that forcing good people to pay bribes in order to work is the right thing to do.

The bad news is that newspapers are NOT being murdered--they are committing suicide.
