Shefren and Kane participate in Chambers farcical "Golden Apple Award" to Sequoia Healthcare District

Original post made by Jack Hickey, Woodside: Emerald Hills, on Jan 28, 2011

In a previous post, I said: "Taxpayers should take note of the Districts expenditures on this event, and see which Directors take advantage of the $95/plate dinner! E-mail boardmembers to let them know how you feel." see: Web Link
The District spent $3,000 and Directors Shefren and Kane participated in this farce.

Correction: The District only spent $285 dollars (3 tickets @ $95/ea.). The $3,000 was a 1/6/2011 payment for the Sequoia Awards. See the check register at Web Link

So --Mr Hickey:
I notice in today's PA Daily Post under "government agendas" on page 8,
There is listed for The Sequioa Health care District Meeting on Wednesday's meeting a large grant proposal that the District has itemized for consideration TO GIVE OUR TAX DOLLARS TO THE DISTRICT"S FAVORITE SOCIAL CHARITY....
THE SAN MATEO LABOR UNION COMMUNITY ALLIANCE
What's that? The SEIU PR Budget for this Spring?

That measure was defeated. Union payback was limited to the $8,000 given them in December when Horsley was President. Kim Griffin of Menlo Park is our new President, while Jerry Shefren is V.P. Katie Kane was elected Secretary in spite of my effort to obtain that position. My effort to get the audio of Board meetings up on our website is a work in progress. See www.xshcd.com for more information on the meeting and a sample meeting audio.
