Undefeated Redwood NJB "Warriors" Clinch Division 3 Silicon Valley Title
Regular Season, 8-0; Post-Season, 6-0

March 4, Santa Clara, Calif. -- Today, the Redwood NJB "Warriors", 3rd and 4th grade boys from Portola Valley, Atherton, Redwood City, San Carlos, Millbrae and Menlo Park, clinched the championship title of the NJB (National Junior Basketball) Silicon Valley Division 3, winning today’s game against a Los Gatos team, 42-30. They finish their season undefeated with a 8-0 record in regular season, and 6-0 in post-season playoffs and finals. They are the only team amongst the 80 Silicon Valley teams (approximately 800 boys) that are undefeated. The league includes teams from as far north as Redwood City and as far south as Hollister. The 10 boys have showed an impressive combination of skills, energy, and passion for the game. They were relentless in their drive to finish first.

They beat 11 other teams in the Redwood City league, and captured the North Silicon Valley championship last week, which is a league of 40 teams.

“In my 5 years coaching competitive youth basketball, I have yet to coach a group of boys that have come together as a team like the “Warriors” have. What separates them from the pack is that they respect each other and their coaches, and play smart, team basketball. Every kid contributes in some way . . . we don’t have any weak links”, says Head Coach Jeff Tripaldi. “It has been a joy to coach these young kids. They are smart, respectful and very hard working.”
