Briefs: Burglars take 21 laptops from school

One or more burglars broke into the computer lab at Corte Madera Middle School in Portola Valley and got away with 21 laptop computers valued at about $16,000, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

Given the financial difficulties that middle schools experience, one would have to be a real low life to steal from a school.
