Menlo Park may close housing department

The Menlo Park City Council asked staff Tuesday to move ahead with closing the city's housing department, which reduces the city's housing program to the bare minimum required by law.

Good move by the City Council and an apt comment by Councilman Cohen. We need to make cuts and get city government back to basics. The city should not be owning or operating housing.
