Portola Valley’s new Town Center is one of the top 10 green building projects of the year, according to an environmental committee of the American Institute of Architects.
The six-person committee recognized the work of the Town Center’s architects, Larry Strain of Siegel & Strain Architects and Jim Goring of Goring & Straja, and their team. Both firms are based in Ermeryville.
Mr. Strain said the project, completed in October, has more points than it needs to win a platinum designation from the U.S. Green Building Council, said Portola Valley Councilman Ted Driscoll. The platinum award is the highest recognition awarded for green commercial buildings.
