American Voters say Obama the Worst President since WWII

Original post made by Poll Watcher, Woodside: Woodside Hills, on Jul 3, 2014

President Barack Obama is the worst president since World War II, and the United States would have been better off if his Republican challenger, Mitt Romney, had won the election in 2012, a new Quinnipiac University national poll released yesterday reveals.

The best president? Ronald Reagan.

"Over the span of 69 years of American history and 12 presidencies, President Barack Obama finds himself with President George W. Bush at the bottom of the popularity barrel," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

"Would Mitt have been a better fit? More voters in hindsight say yes," Malloy said.

Out of 1,446 registered voters surveyed nationwide from June 24-30, 33 percent deemed Obama as the worst president, while another 28 percent picked former President George W. Bush as the worst, Quinnipiac reported Wednesday.

In addition, 45 percent of the voters said the country would be better off if Romney won in 2012, and 38 percent said the country would be worse off.

The choice was sharply divided among party lines, with Republicans choosing Romney and Democrats choosing Obama However, it was Independent voters who tipped the scales in favor of Romney at 47 percent for Romney to 33 percent for Obama.

Overall, Reagan topped voters' pick for the best president since World War II, with 35 percent of the voters choosing him. Trailing Reagan were former presidents Bill Clinton at 18 percent, 15 percent for John F. Kennedy and just 8 percent for Obama.

yo Poll Watcher: whT do the polls say about 2016?

Who are the top challengers for each party?

See? Polls aren't the "end all" are they?

Reagan couldnt win a GOP primary in 2016. Even in Tehran, Nicaragua or Beirut.

Obama should go down in history as the worst U.S. president of all time followed by Jimmy Carter as a close 2nd. Bush 43, a mediocre president, looks absolutely resplendent when compared to Carter and Obama.

y;all are smoking something. No facts, just hyperbole.

Let's look at the latest news: June's jobs report. In fact, let's go back and look at a lot of "Junes":

June 2004: + 74,000 Bush
June 2005: + 245,000 Bush
June 2006: + 77,000 Bush
June 2007: + 71,000 Bush
June 2008: - 172,000 Bush and the beginning of the Bush Great Recession
June 2009: - 467,000 Obama inherits the Bush Great Recession

For reference - the Bush Recession low water mark: Bush's last month was -800,000 jobs

June 2010: - 122,000 Obama begins to dig out of the Bush Great Recession
June 2011: + 217,000
June 2012: + 88,000
June 2013: + 201,000
June 2014: + 288,000

Details for June 2014:

- June marks 52 straight months of private sector job growth, the longest ever on record, beating out Bill Clinton's record of 51 continuous months of private sector job growth from February 1996 to April 2000.

- The economy has added more than 200,000 jobs for five months in a row now, the longest such streak since 1999.

- In the first half of this year alone the economy has added 1.4 million jobs, another accomplishment not seen since 1999.

Job growth/loss chart for every month, starting at the Bush Great Recession, Jan 2008: Web Link

Most of Obama's negative numbers come from the Bush Great Recession and the anemic recovery (with an assist from obstructionist Congress - John Boenher promised in 2010 that "Jobs were Job 1" Boehner never passed any jobs bills, just 50 votes on the SCOTUS approved ACA.)

For example, February 2009, Obama's first full month in office and therefore had minimal impact, had job losses of 700,000 - all the doing of the Bush Recession, obviously.

Remember: Clinton gave Bush a BUDGET SURPLUS (two in fact) and Bush gave it away and then Bush gave us America's first TRILLION DOLLAR DEFICIT.

Not even close.
