Commission recommends allowing additions to homes near faults

The Woodside Planning Commission on Nov. 6 unanimously recommended approval of new construction rules that would allow residents with homes in earthquake hazard areas to add on to their residences.

Of course they did! And if we had a flood plain they'd recommend building there, too. Tally Ho, Woodside Planning Commission! You are the lamest Woodside has ever had.

Well, I wonder how much difference it makes if you are 50 feet away vs. 100 feet away from the fault?

Aren't most of them a mile underground and shake for 30+ miles or more?

The San Andreas fault has a 9% probabilty of a 6.7 or greater in the next 20-30 years. Hayward fault is more likely, but anything could happen.
