  1. This is a very sad situatio. Condolences to his family. Maybe it’s just me but it feels like we are slipping back to the 90’s when homicides were so rampant that EPA was the “per capita murder capital of the USA” I personally would like to not go back to those days when hearing gun fire was common and there were 42 murders in a year. What do we need to do to stop this trend in its tracks? I wish I knew but I would guess that stepping up police patrols would be a good start. Let’s get other cities to help if needed, after all this is in everyones best interest. Do we need to write to the San Mateo DA and ask for harsher prosecution and sentencing for people caught committing violent crimes? Do we need more public cameras? What about more license plate readers? I don’t know the answer but I also am not hearing our public officials trying to discuss this and come up with answers.
