Mal Warwick will discuss his new book, “The Business Solution to Poverty: Designing Products and Services for Three Billion New Customers” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Kepler’s, 1010 El Camino Real in Menlo Park.
Co-authors Mal Warwick and Paul Polak argue the way to help the poor is not to view them as victims, but as customers whose needs the market can serve without exploitation.
They show how capitalists can supply the very poor with drinking water, electricity, irrigation, housing, education and health care at a fraction of the usual cost.
