An employee at Cesar Chavez Ravenswood Middle School in East Palo Alto has been arrested for three felony counts of lewd acts with a minor and one felony count of enticing a minor for lewd acts, according to an East Palo Alto Police Department news release on Monday.

An arrest is only an allegation, and the arrestee is considered innocent until proven guilty.

The employee, James Edward Fitch, was working as a campus relations coordinator when the police department received information about the alleged lewd conduct on Sept. 6, police say. The 54-year-old Stockton resident was arrested on Sept. 16 in coordination with the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Apprehension Team and served a $500,000 arrest and search warrant at his residents, according to police. They say he will be booked into the San Mateo County Jail.

Police encourage anyone with information about the investigation to contact Detective Sergeant Luaorozco at 650-629-4538, or anonymously at 650-853-3160. Anonymous tips can also be made by sending an email to epa@tipnow.org or via text or voicemail at 650-409-6792.
