Relaxed holiday parking rules are in effect in Menlo Park. Through Sunday, Jan. 4, parking in downtown plazas is unlimited. And through Saturday morning, Jan. 3, there will be no enforcement of overnight parking rules.
Candidates sought for two commissions
Aspirants to the Transportation and Environmental Quality commissions have until Jan. 20 to apply. The city has extended the deadline, originally Dec. 8, because it didn’t receive any applications for those commissions’ open seats, according to City Clerk Margaret Roberts.
The Environmental Quality Commission advises the City Council on matters related to environmental protection, sustainable practices, and historical preservation. The Transportation Commission advises the council on traffic and transportation issues, and hears appeals of city decisions related to traffic, parking and transportation.
Applications can be obtained at tinyurl.com/appcomm, or by e-mailing Ms. Roberts at msroberts@menlopark.org.
Council takes break
The Menlo Park City Council won’t meet either this week or next week. The next council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 6.
