The MVLA Avalanche Soccer Team was invited to participate in the 2007 Soccer By-the-Bay Tournament Aug. 18-19, and ended-up winning the U15 Girls championship.
The team competed in the U15 Girls Gold Division and won its three bracket games (Mission Wildcats 4-2, Manteca Futbol 4-0 and Dublin Legends 3-0), before it won a tight game against the OV Sting 2-1 in the championship match.
The Avalanche then traveled to San Juan Capistrano and competed in the SoCal Blues Cup over Labor Day weekend. The team finished as QuarterFinalists in the prestigious soccer event, even though the players were suffering from many injuries and illnesses; it finished the three-day tournament with only 11 players (not allowing for any substitutions).
