‘A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmas’
Halloween may be a few weeks past but, as autumn starts to make its way toward winter, there’s still time to catch a festive ghost story. Los Altos Stage Company presents an adaptation of “A Christmas Carol,” Charles Dickens’ classic Victorian haunted-holiday tale about the transformation of the miserly misanthrope Ebenezer Scrooge, thanks to several helpful visiting spirits and the redemptive power of Christmas goodwill. According to the theater company’s website, this production, adapted for the stage by Michael Wilson and directed by Kristin Walter, plays up the spooky, supernatural (but family-friendly; recommended for ages 6 and up) fun, and features a “mesmerizing, swirling, dancing chorus of ghosts.”
Nov. 28-Dec. 21, see online for show days and times; Bus Barn Theater, 97 Hillview Ave., Los Altos; $13-$51 (price varies depending on performance date and ticket type); losaltosstage.org/a-christmas-carol.
