Hannah Bensen is a journalist covering inequality and economic trends affecting middle- and low-income people. She is a California Local News Fellow.
She previously interned as a reporter for the Embarcadero Media Foundation and as a data reporter for The Washington Post and the Investigative Reporting Workshop.
Hannah grew up in Wisconsin and graduated from Middlebury College with a bachelor’s in international politics and economics and a master’s in journalism from Stanford University. Before becoming a journalist, she worked for the Federal Reserve in Washington, DC.
