A 22-year-old San Francisco man —identified by the San Mateo County Coroner as Troy Taylor — died at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 22, on Highway 35 south of Portola Valley after his southbound 1996 Ducati M900 motorcycle crossed over a double-yellow line and collided head-on with a northbound 2001 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 34-year-old man from Loma Mar, said Officer Grace Castillo of the California Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike after the collision, Officer Castillo said. The CHP did not have information on possible injuries to the driver of the Silverado. Witnesses to the accident are asked to call Officer Garcia at 369-6261.
