Black History Month celebrations in Menlo Park

In honor of Black History Month, the city of Menlo Park is hosting a family friendly event featuring Congolese dancer Arnaud Loubayi in an interactive performance. The event will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the Belle Haven Community Campus, 100 Terminal Avenue in Menlo Park.

On Saturday, Feb. 7, the city is also hosting a celebratory event that highlights Black history and culture from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Belle Haven Community Campus.

Woodside High School crab feed

Woodside High School’s Athletic Booster Organization is hosting its annual crab feed from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, at Red Morton Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue in Redwood City.

This is the organization’s biggest fundraising event of the year and will feature all-you-can-eat crab pasta, salad, bread. There’s chicken for those who may want something other than shellfish . Guests can also enjoy live music and win prizes during the community event.

Applications open for East Palo Alto Sanitary District advisory committee

The Menlo Park is seeking applicants to represent the city on the East Palo Alto Sanitary District advisory committee. Members will be responsible for providing advice on legal, operational maintenance and financial matters as well as reviewing budgets and capital improvement plans.

The committee’s mission is to provide safe, efficient and cost-effective sanitary sewer services to East Palo Alto and Menlo Park. The city encourages applicants who are over the age of 18 and live in the EPASD service area to apply by at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13
