A residence on Toyon Road was burglarized on Friday afternoon by a man who smashed a window before entering the home, according to Atherton Police.

The incident occurred at about 3:20 p.m., police said in a news release. The home had security cameras, and the burglary was interrupted when the property owner called through the indoor camera, causing the man to flee. It was unknown as of Friday whether anything was taken from the home, police said.

The burglar was described as an adult male, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a stocky build. He had brown eyes and was wearing a black baseball hat with a white Nike swoosh, a black paper medical mask, a black zip-up jacket and black pants, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 650-688-6500.
