About the Holiday Fund
The Holiday Fund is a community tradition that channels local generosity into direct support for nonprofits helping families and children across the Midpeninsula.
How it works:
- Local focus. Donations stay in our community, supporting trusted nonprofits.
- No overhead. The Embarcadero Media Foundation covers all administrative and promotional costs, ensuring that 100% of contributions go to grantees.
- Matched giving. Each year, matching funds from local foundations amplify every reader’s contribution.
- Transparent process. Grant applications are reviewed by a committee of Embarcadero Media staff and community advisors. Awards are published annually on the Grantees page.
The Holiday Fund is a program of the Embarcadero Media Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
