San Mateo County residents thinking about running for public office in the June 6 primary election have four weeks to get their names on the ballot for one of some 200 positions to be filled. The filing period closes March 10.

A seminar for prospective candidates — “The Mechanics of Running for Public Office” — will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 18, at the Elections Office, 40 Tower Road in San Mateo.
