For parents and community members concerned about the state of education, Senator Joe Simitian will hold an “Education Update” meeting in Palo Alto on Saturday, Jan. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The Palo Alto Unified School District board members, staff and parents are invited to attend the discussion at the district boardroom, 25 Churchill Ave.
Simitian, a member of the Senate Education Committee, will provide updates on K-12 funding and legislature followed by an open dialogue where questions, comments and concerns are welcomed.
“I’m particularly anxious to hear from folks given these challenging budget times,” Simitian said. “These ‘Education Updates’ give me an opportunity to know what local education leaders and advocates are thinking, and what matters most to them. Knowing that helps me better serve our local schools and kids.”
