Four new multiuse trails have opened in the 6,500-acre La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve located above Woodside and Portola Valley. The 6 new miles link up to existing trails and lace through the center of the preserve, across grasslands and past redwood and oak forests.

Federal earmarks boost Palo Alto, Mountain View and Woodside projects

The House of Representatives passed a bipartisan federal spending bill on Thursday, Jan 22, which includes nearly $11 million in federal funding for projects in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, including a fire station in Palo Alto, road improvements in Woodside and affordable housing in Mountain View.

Stanford protesters focused on message, not damage, witness says

John Richardson, who was one of 11 protesters who barricaded themselves in the Stanford University president’s office to protest the war in Gaza, testified that his group was motivated by the suffering in Palestine and that members made an effort to minimize and clean up the damage.
