Measure N asks voters to make Portola Valley a charter town 

In November, Portola Valley voters will decide whether their small town will adopt a charter, an initiative aimed at increasing revenue through a real property transfer tax. If approved, Measure N would establish a tax of $10 per $1,000 of a property’s sale price.
