June is a jam-packed month, celebrating grads and dads, Juneteenth and Pride, summer solstice and the longest day of the year. Throw a bunch of festivals and fairs into the mix – plus local World Cup-related festivities this year – and suddenly the calendar is overflowing. Find a guide to some of Silicon Valley’s biggest June happenings below.

And if you’re like me and find the idyllic nature of “The Great British Bake Off” soothing, you may have already watched (spoiler alert) Ruiqi Chen win this season of “The Great American Baking Show.” Adrienne Mitchel spoke with Ruiqi about how she ended up on the show, a Costco dessert that inspired her to start baking and what it was like getting two handshakes for perfect bakes from Paul Hollywood himself.

Terry Sand’s ‘The Shinsplintski Family Circus’ exhibition opens June 7, with circus-inspired improv performances, complete with hula hoops and a “little crazy modern dance” to mark the event.

How a Palo Alto transplant went from home baking to winning ‘The Great American Baking Show’

Ruiqi Chen did not think she’d win “The Great American Baking Show.” During the first challenge of the finale, she made a mistake that she thought sealed her fate – her meringues were all cracked.

Congrats to Perla M., who was the first reader to correctly identify where last week’s photo was taken (it’s “Fantasy” by Louis Pearson in Mountain View!).
